Former Chairman of Ngeski Local Government Area of Kebbi State, Mr Garba Hassan, has been kidnapped by bandits along with 12 others in Niger State.
Hassan and others were abducted on Thursday afternoon while riding in a commercial vehicle on the Tegina-Kontagora road in Niger state.
All the victims were reportedly traveling from Abuja to Kebbi State in a commercial vehicle when the incident occurred.
They were reportedly hiding in the bushes between Tegina and Kontagora towns in Niger state when they burst onto the road and stopped the car in which Hassan and others were traveling.

The victims were later found to have been taken into the bush by bandits and from there taken to an unknown destination .
Kebbi State Governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Mr. Ahmed Idris, confirmed the incident in a telephone interview with our correspondent. “We have heard about it and we are investigating the circumstances that led to his abduction,” Idris said, adding that “all means are being taken to ensure the release of Alhaji Garba Hassan.” Ta. Spokesman Wasiu Abiodun said: “We will look into it and get back to you.”
