A man identified as Olamilekan Taiwo allegedly attacked Reuben Olohede, in his 80s, with a whetstone after entering the victim’s residence in Agbado area of Ogun State.
In Tuesday’s incident, the suspects stole N12,700 from the residence of an elderly man who was rendered unconscious in the attack.
PUNCH Metro learned that the victim’s son, Segun Olohede, who was returning home from work, reported the incident at a nearby station after coming across his father lying in a pool of blood.

The arrest of the suspect was confirmed by the State Police Command, but Taiwo is said to have fled the scene before members of the community could apprehend him.
Our correspondent learned that Taiwo was later arrested in Ogba Ayo and Ijoko areas of the state with the cooperation of the police and other security forces in the state.
State Police Public Relations Officer Omolola Odutola said the 80-year-old man had regained his consciousness and was being prepared for treatment at a nearby hospital, adding that the stolen cash had also been recovered.
“The suspect has been arrested and will be transferred to the Abeokuta State Criminal Investigation Department for further investigation. He has been charged with attempted murder and robbery,” Odutola said in a WhatsApp message on Thursday. Stated.
