Russian Strikes Claim Lives in Southern Ukraine

In a tragic turn of events, Russian strikes have resulted in the loss of three lives in southern Ukraine, particularly in the Black Sea port of Odesa. Since the start of its invasion in  , Russia has been carrying out nightly attacks on various cities across Ukraine.
According to authorities, the aggressor targeted the port infrastructure in the Odesa region, leading to the unfortunate deaths of a security guard and a truck driver. It remains uncertain whether the fatalities were caused by direct hits or falling debris from destroyed missiles.
The southern defence forces reported that Russia launched a ballistic missile and four guided missiles at the southern port. However, due to active countermeasures, three enemy Kh-59/Kh-69 missiles failed to reach their intended targets.

Additionally, in a separate incident, a 62-year-old man lost his life in Russian shelling on the southern city of Nikopol. The Ukrainian air force revealed that out of the 20 drones launched over Ukraine, 14 were successfully destroyed.
This distressing news comes just two days after a rare daytime attack on the Ukrainian capital, which claimed the lives of 34 people, according to an updated toll from Kyiv’s military administration.
