Jadon Sancho’s Manchester United future remains unresolved after the winger rejected an offer from AS Roma and also ruled out talks with Turkish giants Besiktas, despite the club’s eagerness to complete a deal before the window closes.
Roma reportedly submitted a formal proposal worth around £20 million, with an option for a loan arrangement. United were open to discussions, but Sancho himself declined to enter talks, preferring to keep his options open rather than pursue a move to Serie A.
Besiktas, meanwhile, have made no secret of their interest. Supporters even launched an extraordinary online campaign, flooding Sancho’s Instagram with millions of “Come to Besiktas” comments. Yet the England international has made it clear he will not consider a switch to Turkey before September, putting an end to rumours of an imminent unveiling in Istanbul.
The sticking point for both clubs is Sancho’s £250,000-a-week salary, which remains a significant obstacle. Roma attempted to spread the cost across a long-term deal, but no breakthrough was achieved. United are thought to be willing to sanction his departure, but as things stand, no agreement satisfies both the player and potential suitors
