One of King Charles III’s inquiries to President Muhammadu Buhari on Wednesday was, “Do you have a residence in Britain?”
After his Wednesday visit to Buckingham Palace, President Buhari acknowledged the query to reporters.

In response to his question about whether or not Buhari owns property in the United Kingdom, Buhari declared, “I told him no.”

“I told him that the only houses I own in Nigeria are the ones I had before I got into government and that I am not interested in accumulating assets all over the place, that I feel freer when I have nothing,” he said.

President Buhari continued by saying that King Charles is keen on learning more about Nigeria.

He (King Charles) is highly interested in Nigeria,” the Nigerian leader remarked. Perhaps for the sake of Nigeria’s longstanding and prosperous connection with Britain. I believe we still have a deep connection with them, and he has such glowing things to say about Nigeria and has shown a desire for our relationship to continue.

The encounter was also an occasion for President Buhari to express his condolences to the new king on the loss of his mother, Queen Elizabeth II.

President Buhari extended his own congratulations on his installation as King of the United Kingdom.
