The Senator representing Edo South Senatorial District, Neda Imasuen, has joined Nigerians in mourning the passing of former Inspector-General of Police, Dr. Solomon Ehigiator Arase, describing his death as a monumental loss to Edo State and the nation.
In a condolence message, Senator Imasuen eulogized Arase as a rare officer who embodied professionalism, courage, and integrity throughout his distinguished career in the Nigeria Police Force.
“Dr. Arase was not just an officer, but a visionary reformer whose tenure as Inspector-General left indelible marks. From the creation of the Complaint Response Unit to his unwavering defence of citizens’ rights, he redefined policing with courage and purpose. His life was an epitome of service and excellence, and his death is a painful blow to Edo State and Nigeria at large,” Imasuen said.
The lawmaker also praised Arase’s humanitarian interventions through the Solomon Ehigiator Arase Foundation (SEAF), which provided scholarships to brilliant but indigent students, especially children of deceased police officers.
“On behalf of the good people of Edo South, I extend heartfelt condolences to his family. Edo has lost a noble son, Nigeria has lost a reformer, and humanity has lost a gentleman. May God grant his family the strength to bear this irreparable loss,” he added.
