A gas tanker caught fire along the Agbado Road in the Toyin area of Ifako Ijaiye Local Government Area of Lagos State, resulting in the destruction of several shops and goods. The fire started when the tanker collided with an electric pole while trying to enter the premises where it was supposed to offload its content.
The collision caused a cable to snap, leading to an explosion. The Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service and other emergency responders were able to contain the fire and prevent casualties. However, some shops were destroyed in the incident. This comes after a fire gutted makeshift structures in the Ikate-Elegushi area of Lekki, Lagos State, the previous night.
