A 13 year old boy has died and several others have been seriously injured after part of a fountain collapsed during celebrations for Spain’s 2026 FIFA World Cup victory in Ciudad Rodrigo, Salamanca province.
The incident occurred shortly after midnight on Monday, July 20, as supporters gathered around the Árbol Gordo fountain to celebrate Spain’s 1–0 extra-time victory over Argentina in the World Cup final.
