Nigerians have been notified by the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control that a quantity of harmful Sprite 50cl glass bottles are in circulation in Nigeria.
NAFDAC said the item was found following a customer grumbling got and researched by the post-promoting observation unit of the organization.
Over five crates of the involved batch of Sprite 50cl glass bottles, according to the agency, were found to be contaminated with particlesOn June 29, 2023, vigilantes dump the body of an Anambra tricycle operator into the river during the investigation.

“Besides, the organization, (Nigerian Packaging Organization Restricted (Abuja plant) has been coordinated to review the embroiled group of the unwholesome item and report to NAFDAC for compelling checking,” NAFDAC said in a proclamation on its site.
According to NAFDAC, the manufacturer of the product was Nigerian Bottling Company Limited (Abuja plant), and its batch number was AZ6 22:32.
It added that the item was produced on April 4, 2023.
“NAFDAC urges consumers, retailers, and distributors to avoid consuming, selling, or distributing the unhealthy product by exercising caution and vigilance. The items’ credibility and state of being ought to be painstakingly checked.
The aforementioned batch of Sprite 50cl glass bottles should be delivered to the closest NAFDAC office by anyone in possession of them. It continued, “You are advised to seek immediate medical advice from a qualified healthcare professional if you, or someone you know, has consumed this product or suffered any adverse reaction or event after consumption.”
