In a remake of the mountaineering action thriller, Stallone will reprise his 1993 performance as Gabe Walker (according to The Wrap).
In addition to producing the movie, Stallone will star in the reboot as Ric Roman Waugh, who will replace Renny Harlin as director, as well as handle the film’s direction.

Sylvester Stallone, who played Rocky, will appear alongside his family in a new reality series.
In the first Cliffhanger, Stallone played Colorado Rockies ranger Walker, who is tormented by guilt after a botched rescue effort that claimed the life of one of his buddies.
Walker is duped into assisting a group of thieves in their search for the money they took during the robbery of a U.S. Treasury jet while suffering from stress from the fatal accident.
The forthcoming film’s director, Waugh, who has performed stunts for films like Hard Target and Lethal Weapon 2 on his resume, revealed that the Italian Alps would serve as the setting for the revival.
Cliffhanger was undoubtedly one of Waugh’s favourite spectacles. “Growing up with the biggest action films of the 80s and 90s, working on many of them myself,” Waugh stated. “It’s a dream come true to be in charge of the next chapter, climbing the Italian Alps alongside Sylvester Stallone, the man who started it all. Taking this property to new heights will be a tremendous task and a blast, a duty I don’t take lightly.
Sylvester Stallone describes missing Creed 3 as a “regretful situation”
The Family Stallone, which gives viewers “a seat at the table of one of Hollywood’s most famous families,” was recently acquired by Paramount+ by Stallone.
The description states, “Three-time Academy Award nominee Sylvester Stallone is ready to give cameras access to what he would consider the greatest role of his lifetime: dad. After playing some of the most legendary characters in cinematic history.”
