Teenage Robber Laments Failure of His Traditional Bulletproof Vest

A teenage armed robbery suspect, Sodiq Oyedokun, has expressed disappointment after his traditional bulletproof vest, which was also supposed to prevent his arrest by making him disappear from crime scenes, failed during a recent operation.

Oyedokun was apprehended by Ondo State’s security force, Amotekun, along with 20 other suspected criminals in Akure, the state capital. During an interview, the teen explained that he inherited the vest from his late father, a herbalist, and had used it for the first time in a robbery operation.

“My father gave the vest to me, and I’ve kept it at home since then. This was the first time I wore it during an operation. I don’t know why it didn’t work. I should have disappeared when the Amotekun personnel arrived at the scene,” he lamented.

Alongside Oyedokun, Amotekun also paraded suspected kidnappers, armed robbers, and motorcycle snatchers, all believed to have been causing havoc in the state. Amotekun authorities assured that the suspects would be charged in court after thorough investigations.
