Tenant Found Dead in Lagos Apartment, Police Investigating

 

On July 9th, 2024, the lifeless body of Caleb Chiemele, a tenant, was discovered in a short-let apartment located on the LSDPC Estate in the Lekki Phase 1 area of Lagos State. Chiemele had been residing in the apartment since May 12th, but on June 12th, he failed to emerge from his living quarters. Concerned individuals, including the apartment owner, Adewole Olufemi, grew curious and decided to look through the window to check on Chiemele’s condition. To their shock, they found him lying motionless on the apartment floor.

Alarmed by the discovery, Olufemi promptly notified the Maroko Division of the Nigerian Police Force, who dispatched officers to investigate the matter. An anonymous source, speaking to our correspondent, disclosed that the tenant’s lifeless body was discovered around 8 pm on June 12th. The apartment, owned by Adewole Olufemi, is situated on the LSDPC Estate, off Freedom Way in Lekki Phase 1. The source further revealed that Caleb Chiemele had been occupying the short-let apartment since May 12th, 2024.

“At around 5 pm on June 12th, they noticed that Caleb had not been seen since the morning, and based on that observation, they decided to peep through the windows and found him lying on the floor in the apartment,” the source stated.

Upon receiving the information, the police visited the apartment and discovered the lifeless remains of the tenant. Benjamin Hundeyin, the state Police Public Relations Officer, confirmed that an investigation has been initiated to determine the cause of Chiemele’s death. The body has been transferred to the morgue for an autopsy.

As the investigation progresses, the Lagos State Police Command will work diligently to shed light on the circumstances surrounding Caleb Chiemele’s tragic demise.
