The Minister also emphasized the commitment of President Bola Tinubu to positive reforms aimed at reviving the nation’s economy and enhancing security. He called on Nigerians and friends of Nigeria to appreciate the progress that has been made and to look forward to a better future for Nigeria’s democracy.

Democracy Day holds great significance for Nigeria as it commemorates the day when the military regime handed over power to a civilian government in 1999, marking the beginning of an era of democracy in the country. It serves as a reminder of the struggles and sacrifices made by the Nigerian people to attain and maintain democratic governance.

As Nigerians celebrate Democracy Day, it is important to remember the principles and values that underpin democratic governance, such as respect for human rights, rule of law, and accountability. It is an opportunity for citizens to reflect on the progress made so far and to recommit themselves to the ideals of democracy.

This year’s Democracy Day celebration is particularly significant as Nigeria continues to face various challenges, including insecurity, economic downturn, and social unrest. It is a time for Nigerians to come together, show solidarity, and work towards building a better future for the country.
