A man suspected to be a scavenger was found dead after a staircase in an abandoned single-storey building allegedly fell on him at Elechi Street, Mile 3 Diobu, Port Harcourt, State of Rivers.

Speaking on the incident, the security chief of Nkpolu Oroworukwo Mile 3 Diobu, Godstime Ihunwo, said he received information at about 6:15pm on Wednesday that some hoodlums were in the building smoking the The substance is considered a hard drug.
Ihunwo, who is also a member of a vigilante group in the area, said he mobilized his men to the scene and on reaching the area, the hoodlums left.

“When they arrived at the scene, the group of thugs had already left the abandoned building.
