The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has arrested Lekan Jimoh, also known as “Kanmo-Kanmo”, a suspected drug kingpin, 12 years after he allegedly masterminded the killing of three NDLEA officers. Jimoh was tracked to his hideout in Owode, Ogun State, and arrested during a sting operation, with 69 kilograms of skunk, a strain of cannabis, recovered from him.
The NDLEA had been pursuing Jimoh since June 15, 2014, when he allegedly mobilized armed thugs to attack officers attempting to arrest him, resulting in the murder of three officers, including Rabiu Usman Kazaure. In August 2023, operatives recovered 1,922 kilograms of skunk from his residence in Ado-Odo, Ogun State, which has since been forfeited to the Federal Government
44-year-old woman, Yinka Agboola, was arrested for selling illicit drugs online, with 2.2kg of skunk and cannabis oil recovered.
Two suspects were arrested with large quantities of tramadol, codeine syrup, and other controlled drugs.
NDLEA Chairman, Brig. Gen. Mohamed Buba Marwa, described Jimoh’s arrest as “a triumph of justice” and a testament to the agency’s commitment to bringing fugitives to justice
