President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has inaugurated the newly completed Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu Flyover in Ado-Ekiti, Ekiti State, commending Governor Biodun Oyebanji for what he described as transformative leadership and significant infrastructure development across the state.

The commissioning ceremony, attended by senior government officials, traditional rulers, political leaders, and residents, marked a major milestone in Ekiti State’s urban development agenda. The flyover, named after the President, is expected to ease traffic congestion, improve connectivity, and support economic activities within the state capital and surrounding communities.

Speaking at the event, President Tinubu praised Governor Oyebanji’s administration for prioritizing infrastructure, social welfare, and economic growth. He noted that the governor’s performance had strengthened public confidence in governance and development, adding that the progress recorded under the current administration justified continued support from the people of Ekiti State.

Tinubu further expressed confidence in Oyebanji’s leadership, publicly endorsing the governor for a second term in office. According to the President, continuity in governance would help sustain ongoing projects and accelerate the state’s development objectives. The endorsement comes ahead of future political activities in the state and is expected to shape discussions within the ruling party and among stakeholders.

Governor Oyebanji, in his remarks, thanked the President for his support and commitment to national and subnational development. He reiterated his administration’s focus on infrastructure expansion, job creation, investment attraction, education, healthcare, and rural development. The governor emphasized that the flyover project forms part of broader efforts to modernize Ekiti’s transportation network and improve the quality of life for residents.

The commissioning of the flyover underscores the growing emphasis on infrastructure as a catalyst for economic growth across Nigeria. Analysts note that strategic road projects and urban transport improvements remain critical to enhancing mobility, attracting investment, and supporting regional development across the country.

The event also highlighted the close working relationship between the federal government and the Ekiti State administration, with officials expressing optimism that continued collaboration would deliver additional development projects and economic opportunities for residents.
