Tinubu Meets US Military Delegation at Aso Rock

President Bola Tinubu received a delegation from the United States led by the Commander of the United States Africa Command (USAFRICOM), General Dagvin R. Anderson, at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, on Sunday. The delegation also included the Chargé d’Affaires of the U.S. Embassy in Nigeria, Mr. Keith Heffern, and other members of the team.

The meeting, which took place at the State House, was attended by the National Security Adviser (NSA), Mallam Nuhu Ribadu, and Nigeria’s service chiefs. Details of the closed-door meeting were not disclosed, but the visit is part of growing security cooperation between Nigeria and the United States.

The engagement follows reports of the United States deploying a small team of troops to Nigeria on February 3, marking the first official U.S. military presence on Nigerian soil since airstrikes targeted terrorist positions in the country on Christmas Day 2025.Tinubu Meets US Military Delegation at Aso Rock
