Tiwa Savage makes history as first African artist to perform at the coronation of a British Monarch

The Queen of Aftobeats, Tiwatope Savage popularly known as Tiwa Savage, has done it again as she takes the center stage of music by performing at King Charles coronation.

History was made on Sunday night, April 7th as, Tiwa Savage performed live at coronation ceremony of King Charles III, being the first time an African would perform at the coronation in England.

Last month the Afrobeats singer made the list among musicians to perform at the ceremony.

The singer who doubles as an actress had an heroic performance as she thrilled guests and Monarch with her melodious voice.

In videos which she shared on her Instagram page the mother of one could be seen in a green dress as she performed one of her songs, ‘Keys to the Kingdom’.

With her performance, Tiwa Savage has made history as she becomes the first African musician to perform at the Coronation of a British Monarch.

Recall that last month the Award-winning singer, blew the internet after news of her to perform at the British Corona.

The veteran songstress was billed to perform at the Coronation ceremony of the King of England, King Charles III.

King Charles III was officially crowned on Saturday, May 6th, and on Sunday 7th, May, a Coronation concert and Coronation Big Lunch.

Tiwa Savage performed alongside international stars like Paloma Faith, Steve Winwood, Olly Murs, and DJ Pete Tong.

Tiwa Savage, is not the only Nigerian musician making Africa proud, also fast-rising singer Tems, since she came into limelight has broken records both nationally and internationally.

On Sunday, February 5th, Tems won her first Grammy award at the 65th Grammy Awards.

Tems is the first Nigerian female musician to win a Grammy. She won the prestigious award at the 65th Grammy Award held on February 5th, 2023 at Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles.

She got the award for her feature on American rapper, Future’s song, ‘Wait for U’ which also featured Drake.
