It is believed that at least 20 travellers were taken captive, while one individual sustained a gunshot wound to the knee. The Chairman of Ilisan Development Council, Wemmy Osude, confirmed the incident and stated that one of the victims, a resident of Ilisan Remo, was receiving treatment at Babcock University Teaching Hospital.

Osude urged caution and advised people to inform their loved ones who may be traveling on the road to be vigilant. He expressed his hope that the security agencies would take immediate action to rescue the kidnapped individuals. This incident follows the recent abduction of two others and the murder of Prof Yinka Olomojobi of Babcock University, Ilisan Remo. The professor, who specialized in human rights and gender law, was killed at the Ajadeh Event Centre along Iperu-Sagamu Road in Ikenne Local Government area.

Efforts to reach the spokesperson for the Ogun State Police Command, SP Omolola Odutola, were unsuccessful as calls to her line did not connect. The situation is ongoing, and updates will be provided as more information becomes available.
