Troops of the Joint Task Force (North East) Operation HADIN KAI (OPHK) have dealt a heavy blow to Boko Haram/ISWAP terrorists in Borno State, killing eight insurgents and seizing a range of weapons.
The attacks targeted Forward Operating Bases (FOBs) at Mayanti, Gajigana, and Gajiram between February 28 and March 1, 2026. A gallant officer was killed during the assault at FOB Mayanti in Bama Local Government Area.
According to Lt. Col. Sani Uba, Media Information Officer of JTF North East, troops repelled heavily armed terrorists, recovering:
– 3 PKT automatic anti-aircraft guns
– 2 RPG-7 tubes
– 4 AK-47 rifles
– 2 FN rifles
– 3 RPG bombs
– 1 armed drone
– Large quantities of 7.62mm ammunition
The terrorists were forced to flee, abandoning equipment and suffering additional casualties.
In other operations, troops engaged insurgents at Kayawa Village, arrested two ISWAP logistics suppliers, and destroyed life-support structures.
