The Rivers State Police Command has arrested two suspected fake pastors, Prophet Bassey Umoren and Prophet Elijah Anietie, who were allegedly found with fetish items, including caskets, monkey skulls, and carved skeletons, inside their churches.

The suspects, aged 60 and 50, respectively, were the founders of “God’s Deliverance Apostolic Church” and “Power House of Glory International Gospel Church,” both located in Rumunduru community, Obio/Akpor Local Government Area of Rivers State.
According to the spokesperson for the state police command, Grace Iringe-Koko, the suspects were arrested after a distress call was received from the community youths, who alleged that the pastors were involved in fetish activities.
Iringe-Koko stated that the police recovered several items from the churches, including a live cartridge, wooden coffins, fake naval passports, and thousands of people’s pictures and passports.
The suspects denied the allegations, claiming that the items were used for deliverance purposes and spiritual healing. However, the community youths insisted that the pastors were fake and were involved in fetish activities, including human sacrifices.
The police are currently investigating the matter, and the suspects will be charged to court if found guilty.
