The semi-finals of the under 21 female inter-local government football competition took place yesterday in Aba with Aba South local government team demolishing Ukwa west local government team by 9-0 to book a place in the finals while Umuahia South local government team edge out the hard fighting Isuikwato local government team via penalty shootouts after a scoreless full time to book the remaining slot for the final match.
Mr. Victor Ejiofor Team coordinator of Abia Angels football club of Aba who witnessed the two semi-finals games indicated his feelings in his words” I am very happy to witness this young girl showcase their talents and kudos must go to the Abia state ministry of youth and sports under the leadership of Chief Emeka Ikwuagwu for bringing up this good idea of organizing such tournament from the local government level for female football this is first in the state and I must believe soon some of this players will develop to be better players soon.”
Aba South local government team will slug it out with Umuahia South local government team for the grand finale.
