The Chief Medical Director of the University of Benin Teaching Hospital (UBTH), Prof. Idia Ize-Iyamu, has said the hospital has been repositioned to deliver quality, world-class healthcare through upgraded facilities and improved service delivery.
Prof. Ize-Iyamu stated this during a courtesy visit to the management of Yongxing Steel Company in Benin City. She said the hospital is now strategically positioned to enhance patient care and improve treatment outcomes.
The CMD underscored the importance of partnerships with corporate organisations in strengthening healthcare infrastructure in Nigeria and called on Yongxing Steel Company to collaborate with UBTH in a mutually beneficial and sustainable manner.
She highlighted notable improvements in corporate services and healthcare delivery at the hospital, attributing the progress to the acquisition of state-of-the-art facilities and equipment, which, she said, reaffirm UBTH’s commitment to excellence in healthcare delivery.
In his response, the Managing Director of Yongxing Steel Company, Mr. Zhang Xianghai, described the visit as historic and expressed appreciation to the UBTH CMD and her management team. He commended the hospital for its contributions to quality healthcare delivery in Edo State and the South-South region.
“This visit opens a new chapter for us in 2026,” Mr. Xianghai said.
