Di ASUU for Unizik don comot dia strike wey dem start, as all di members don collect dia full salary for August 2026.
Di union carry dis decision after dem sure say di full moni wey dem suppose collect for August don land. Before now, ASUU branch for Unizik don start strike since September 7, 2026, after dem yan say university no gree pay dem full money wey dem suppose collect. Di union don yan teachers for di university make dem comot for all teaching and school work till di mata settle.
Di strike na because ASUU national executive council don yan say all di branches fit stop work if workers no collect dia salary by di third day of di next month. Di Unizik branch yan say dis kain wahala don happen pass three times, and di yawa wey dey with delay for payment don dey cause gbege for members side.
But di university management bin give another explanation about di matter. UNIZIK Director of Information and Public Relations, Aloysius Attah, bin disagree with di way di union describe di payment problem as lecturers receiving only half of dia salary.
According to di university management, di basic salary of di lecturers bin still complete. Di problem, according to di university, concern di money for Earned Academic Allowance. Di university explain say lack of enough money wey dey come from di school own income make am hard for di institution to pay di allowance on time.
Now wey di complete August payment don reach di affected members, ASUU UNIZIK don call off di strike and order all members make dem go back to dia normal teaching and administrative work.
Di end of di strike mean say classes, student supervision, examinations and other school activities wey di lecturers dey handle fit continue normally.
