US-based Nigerian tactician, Micheal Nsien has emerged as one of the favourites to coach the Under 20 National team of Nigeria but the FC Tulsa chief coach is not desperate to be the head coach of either the Flying Eagles or Golden Eaglets, rather he is willing to accept whatever comes his way.
Nsien stands head and shoulder above his contemporaries in the race for the plum job because of his rich curriculum vitae which places him as one of Nigeria’s best coaches having acquired the UEFA Licence A, B, and C among other qualifications in the last ten years.
As head coach of FC Tulsa, Nsien has continued to learn the ropes in the second division of Major League Soccer and wants a National appointment to further boost his reputation as one of the emerging coaches in world football.
Like every ambitious coach, Michael Nsien wants to take FC Tulsa to the MLS but beyond that, he also plans to introduce his own football philosophy at the modest club and in the process, write his name in gold as one of the best coaches to ever manage the club.
To achieve these, he has invested his confidence in Nigerian players like former Super Eagles invitees, Mfom Udoh and Solomon Kwambe and he is on the lookout for more exciting and talented Nigeria youth players to further beef up his team.
Nevertheless, he still has one eye on a National team appointment and says he will gladly accept to be the head coach of any of the National teams or even assistant coach, as he looks for an opportunity to contribute his own quota to helping Nigeria football move to an enviable height.
As a former youth international, Nsien never had a chance to show the world what he was made of as a player with both the Under 20 and Under 23 National teams of Nigeria.
That disappointment is not weighing him down, rather it has encouraged him to aspire for an opportunity to correct the mistakes of the past. As an outsider, he seems to understand fully the problems of Nigeria football at the youth level and he as promised to bring his wealth of experience to work if appointed.
