Chairman of Oredo Local Government Council, Hon. Engr. Gabriel Iduseri, has commended Edo State Governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo, for his prompt intervention following the recent kidnapping incident at the Vegetable Market in Benin City.
In a statement issued on Friday, Iduseri praised the governor’s proactive security measures, which he said contributed significantly to the interception of the kidnappers and subsequent rescue efforts.
According to the council chairman, the swift response underscores Governor Okpebholo’s commitment to protecting the lives and property of Edo residents and ensuring that criminal elements do not operate freely within the state.
“On behalf of the good people of Oredo Local Government, I commend the swift response of His Excellency, Senator Monday Okpebholo, whose proactive security measures and prompt intervention led to the successful interception of the kidnappers and the rescue efforts that followed. This quick action demonstrates the Governor’s unwavering commitment to the safety and security of Edo people,” he stated.
Iduseri reaffirmed the council’s commitment to supporting the state government’s security agenda, noting that Oredo Local Government would continue to collaborate with security agencies and local vigilante groups to strengthen community safety.
He also called on residents to remain vigilant and provide credible information to security agencies to aid efforts at combating crime across the locality.
“Security remains a top priority of this administration. We will continue to work closely with the Edo State Government, security agencies, and local vigilante groups to ensure that criminal elements have no hiding place within Oredo and across the state,” he added.
