Vigilante Group Storms NYSC Lodge in Anambra, Assaults Corps Members

A disturbing video circulating online has sparked outrage after showing armed men, alleged to be members of Operation Udo Ga-Achi, also known as the Agunechemba Vigilante Group, invading a National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) lodge in Anambra State and violently assaulting corps members.

The footage, released on Monday by the Haven 360 Foundation via Facebook, captured one of the victims, Jennifer Edema Elohor, being physically attacked and stripped naked by the vigilantes.

According to the foundation, the corps members suffered severe beatings and degrading treatment, with threats of sexual assault directed at them. The vigilante group reportedly accused the corps members of engaging in internet fraud, commonly known as “yahoo yahoo,” and carried out the assault despite the victims presenting their official NYSC identification cards.

In a strongly worded statement, Haven 360 Foundation condemned the attack, describing it as a gross violation of human rights. The foundation noted that the incident occurred on July 23, 2025, when the armed group stormed the lodge, branding the corps members as internet fraudsters.

“The assault was particularly egregious in the case of Jennifer Edema Elohor, who was beaten, stripped naked, and left exposed and covered in blood,” the statement read. “The victims were subjected to unsavoury, horrible, sexually degrading words and actions, including threats of sexual violation.”

The incident has triggered widespread condemnation online, with calls for immediate investigation and accountability for the vigilante group’s actions.
