Edo state  Government has congratulated the winner of the Big Brother Niger Season Seven, Ijeoma Josephina  Otabor, and nominated her as a Youth Ambassador for making Edo proud.

The Commissioner for Youth and Gender Issues, Hon. Andrew Adaze Emwanta Esq. JP who on behalf of the Governor, Mr. Godwin Nogheghase Obaseki welcomed the BB Niger Season Seven Winner to Edo State said the state government is happy with her plans to partner with the state to achieve vision 2050

According to him, “this explains the Edo brand. Remember that Edo people came out and voted for you. Remember also what we called  4 plus 4 and it was because of the promise the governor made to Make Edo Great Again,  that made the governor get overwhelming support across the eighteen local governments.

“As a government, we do not take issues of Youth development for granted and as you can see the governor has appointed a young person  to this Ministry,  not just a department of Youth but we also have gender.

“We are happy with what you want to do in the area of human trafficking, drug abuse, agriculture and fabrication. It is not everybody who wins the star prize that will have this kind of idea. Be rest assured that Edo State will be ready to support you.”

The Commissioner disclosed that there is a whole lot that the government is doing in oil palm and lots of persons have come to start grass root commercial agriculture under the Edo State oil palm programme.

“Be rest assured,  if that is your area of interest you will get the necessary support. As a potential investor who is from this state, there is nothing the government under this present administration will not do to support you. We do not want that money to go else where, we want the money to come back home just the way you have come back home,” he noted

Hon. Emwanta said the state has a thirty years master plan and by the year 2050, the governor want to Make Edo  a destination anybody will come and prosper in Nigeria, adding that, “ as you are ready to partner with us in achieving that vision 2050, there is nothing you will require from government that you will not get in terms of the kind of support you are asking for.

”As a potential Youth Ambassador, we will not take for granted the role you are suppose to play in projecting us to the world. In December we are planning the Midwest summit to have role models that young people can look up to and because of that summit we intend to install youth ambassadors.

“In the reality TV category, we are now nominating you as a future Youth Ambassador. Edo Youths will look up to you and You can even have a reality show which is the Edo spirit. We will create the necessary environment for that to happen. Phyna will not just be an Edo Brand or Nigeria brand but an international brand and that is what Make Edo Great Again Agenda of this government represent by  generating talents.

“Remember,  we had the first ever film festival recently in Edo and there are many more  coming up, such as cultural festivals and if we have you as one of our faces of the new Edo,  it gives us lots of credit and  a lot of mileage to you because that becomes a brand people want to relate to especially when we talk of our culture,” the Commissioner added.

Earlier, Phyna,  the first winner from Edo State  thanked the state government and Edo people for their support  and she  promised to partner with the state government with her Foundation that will work against human trafficking, drug abuse and  embark on  investments in Agriculture and fabrication,
