The Chairman of Delta State Sports Commission, DSSC, Chief Tonobok Okowa has revealed that the state government will establish a state of the art Sports Academy in the Delta state.
Tonobok made this known while defending
the 2021 budget estimate of the commission.
“This time around, the Academy will be a good structure that it will go a long way in building talents in various sporting activities to develop our senior teams and clubs”.
He further said the 2021 budget was targeted among other things which include maintaining and developing the various stadia in the state especially the Warri Township stadium.
The stylish sports administrator also received that arrangement is on for the hosting of a council of sports meeting in the state as well as a post-covid-19 Athletics Competition at the Stephen Keshi Stadium, which would be the first major sporting event in the country following the outbreak of the covid-19 pandemic
