We don’t need anti-grazing law in Imo – Uzodinma

Obaland Magazine reporter recently unveiled that the Governor Hope Uzodinma of Imo State has claimed that there is no need for any law to prohibit open grazing in the State, stating that farmers and herders are living together in peace.

The governor made this known on Thursday during an interview with Obaland Magazine correspondent.

According to him, the state government only regulated grazing activities in the State in a way that would favor both the herders and farmers.

Governor Uzodinma revealed that Fulani herdsmen and farmers have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to be in peace with each other, stating that both parties have been going about their businesses without issues.

He said, “I don’t have any law in Imo State for Anti-Grazing. What we have done is that we are regulating grazing activities in the State under a partnership between our farmers and our herders.

“They signed a Memorandum of Understanding in my office where they agreed to work together and both parties have been going about their businesses without causing any grievances or anger to each other”.
