Edo State Signage and Advertisement Agency EDSAA, the body responsibility for outdoor signages and advertisements said it is poised to create over 250 jobs to contribute to the development of the economy.
New General Manager of the agency Osayanmon Aiguobasimwin disclosed this in Benin City while briefing newsmen on the activities of the agency.
The GM who was recently appointed by Governor Monday Okpebholo said the agency is authorized by law to collect revenue for signages and out of home advertisements in the State as well as regulating the system.
“Edo State Signage and Advertisement Agency was established by law in 2022 and saddled with the responsibility of regulating and collecting revenue of all signages across Edo State.
“The body has been saddled with the responsibility of collecting revenue from such structures or every outdoor signage.
“We are using this medium to inform and educate the general public, every business owner and anyone using signs that this agency has been established and I have been appointed as general manager of the organization by his Excellency, Senator Monday Okpebholo.
“We are using this opportunity to tell the unsuspecting citizens and the general public that in the coming days we will roll out the guidelines on how signages for your businesses could be done”.
The new GM said the agency will hold stakeholders meeting with the necessary authorities and the outcome will be favourable to all.
“Our desire is to cooperate with business owners and company owners and those who use signages including mobile advertisements, i.e branded cars, motor bikes, tricycles to ensure their businesses thrive.
“We will come out with a policy that will be favourable to all and not be stressful for all to comply with. We are the authorized body by law to collect revenue for signages and out of home advertisements and we also regulate.
“Our vision is to bring professionalism, innovation, creativity and to ensure return on investments for everyone in the advertisement landscape of Edo State.
“In the next couple of weeks we will embark on massive enlightenment to ensure everyone receives the required information concerning outdoor signages and out of home advertisements.
“With the operation of the agency in the State in the first year, over 250 jobs will be created for youths of the State
and we hope that the agency will achieve this with the cooperation of the general public and those who use signages.
