A 45-year-old woman named Alimot Haruna has been arrested by the Lagos State Police Command for allegedly smuggling 42 children from the northern part of Nigeria into Lagos without their parents’ consent. It is believed that she intended to force the children into child labor and trafficking.
The incident occurred on January 29 and three of the children, two females and one male, were rescued by the police. The suspect has been declared wanted by the Kwara State Police Command in connection to the disappearance of several underage children, some of whom have been recovered. Efforts are ongoing to rescue the remaining eight children.
