The Lagos State Police Command, led by its Public Relations Officer, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, confirmed the arrests and stated that the suspects have been in police custody since the incident occurred. Hundeyin provided further clarification regarding the nature of the crime, indicating that the trio is suspected to be involved either in theft or kidnapping. He emphasized that an ongoing investigation would determine the specifics of their actions.

In his communication via X.com, Hundeyin wrote: “Three suspects, Taiwo Olayinka 30, Azeez Sodiq 33, and Saheed Moonstruck 23, have been in our custody since yesterday, shortly after the incident, and efforts are on to arrest the remaining two suspects that escaped. Meanwhile, the investigation has commenced.” He assured the public that the police are diligently working to apprehend the two additional suspects who managed to flee the scene.
