Zamfara Government Reiterates Commitment to Disaster Management with NEMA

Governor Dauda Lawal of Zamfara State has reaffirmed the state government’s commitment to partnering with the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) to enhance disaster preparedness and response. The governor made this known during the 2025 International Day for Disaster Risk Reduction, held at the NAF Conference Centre in Abuja.

Governor Lawal urged stakeholders to deepen collaboration and ensure no one is left behind in efforts to build a safer, more resilient Nigeria.

Zamfara faces various disasters, including insecurity, fires, displacement, mining shaft collapses, floods, and adverse effects of climate change.

The Zamfara Emergency Management Agency has been granted greater powers to enhance its emergency response.
