At least 20 passengers narrowly escaped death in three separate road accidents that occurred in Lagos and Ogun states on Thursday
According to reports from the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority and the Ogun State Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Agency, the accidents occurred between 7 am and 10 am.
In Lagos, five people sustained injuries in a multi-vehicle collision along Gerrard Road in the Bayo Kuku area. The victims were rushed to a nearby hospital for medical attention.
In Ogun State, 15 people escaped unhurt in two separate crashes that occurred along the Sagamu-Abeokuta Expressway.
The first crash involved an Iveco truck and a Hanvan truck, while the second crash involved a Toyota Corolla and a Nissan Micra.
The Ogun TRACE Commandant General, Seni Ogunyemi, attributed the causes of the crashes to excessive speed and brake failure.
