Lauretta Onochie, former aide to ex-President Muhammadu Buhari, has dismissed claims that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has an assured victory in the 2027 general election. She described such claims as mere psychological warfare aimed at discouraging citizens from active participation in the democratic process.
Onochie asserted that votes will count in 2027, just as they did in 2015, and that the opposition remains committed to ensuring free, fair, and credible elections. She emphasized that Nigerians should not be discouraged from participating in the democratic process, stating, “Dem no fit! We will give them a run for their money.”
According to Onochie, the notion that the 2027 election outcome is already predetermined is nothing but a tactic to undermine the will of the Nigerian people. She remains confident that there will be a new President in May 2027, and the electoral process will reflect the true will of the people.

Onochie’s statement serves as a rallying call to Nigerians to remain vigilant and active in the democratic process, ensuring that their votes count in the 2027 elections.
