One more mishap along the Kwale-Asaba Roadway in Delta State likewise killed four allies of the Bayelsa Sovereigns Football Club.

In a statement released on Monday by the governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Daniel Alabrah, Diri said, “On behalf of the government and people of Bayelsa State, I extend our deepest sympathies to the families of the deceased.” While expressing his sadness over the accidents that resulted in the deaths of 10 Ijaw indigenes, Diri referred to the day as “Black Sunday.”

“I also commiserate with Barrister Smooth, the band’s leader. Our young people lost their lives in these tragic and unfortunate incidents. It is an extraordinary misfortune to our state and the Ijaw country as youthful gifts and providers following their enthusiasm unexpectedly left.

“I beg the Lord to console the families in light of their terrible loss. I also ask God to grant the injured a speedy recovery and healing.
