Veteran Nigerian actress Ethel Ekpe has passed away from cancer in Lagos State. Ekpe was well-known for her role as ‘Segi’ in the popular sitcom “Basi and Company” on the Nigerian Television Authority. She also appeared in Amaka Igwe’s “Forever” and “Sons of the Caliphate.” The news of her death was announced by Dr. Shaibu Husseini, the Director-General of the National Film and Video Censors Board, in a Facebook post.
He expressed his sadness and mentioned that his family named his second daughter Ethel after the late actress. Ekpe’s contribution to the Nigerian entertainment industry will be greatly missed.
