Dear All,

We, Hausa, Igbo, and Yoruba Medical Officers in the USA, urgently wish to share vital information with everyone. It’s crucial for your well-being, so please take a moment to read and heed – Dr. Okyere.

The surge in kidney disease among young people is deeply concerning. We implore you to pay attention and take preventive measures. Please take note of the following:

**CRITICAL – PRIORITIZE YOUR KIDNEY HEALTH**

The recent plight of individuals like Ikekweremadu’s daughter, who battles kidney disease, highlights the urgency of this issue. Tragically, we’ve also lost talented individuals like the Nigerian actor to this ailment. Additionally, our thoughts are with the Honorable Teko Lake, currently hospitalized due to kidney complications. Let’s address this menace together by understanding its causes.

**TOP 6 CAUSES OF KIDNEY DISEASE:**

1. **Delaying Urination:** Holding urine in your bladder for too long can lead to bladder damage and urinary tract infections. Respond promptly when nature calls.

2. **Excessive Salt Intake:** Limit your daily salt intake to 5.8 grams to safeguard your kidneys.

3. **High Protein Diet:** Consuming excessive meat can strain your kidneys, leading to damage over time.

4. **Caffeine Overconsumption:** Too much caffeine, found in many sodas, can elevate blood pressure and harm kidney function. Moderation is key.

5. **Dehydration:** Proper hydration is vital for kidney function. Aim for at least 10 glasses of water daily and monitor urine color for hydration status.

6. **Delayed Treatment:** Address health issues promptly and undergo regular check-ups to detect kidney problems early.

**AVOID THESE HARMFUL MEDICATIONS:**

– D-cold

– Vicks Action-500

– Actified

– Coldarin

– Cosome

– Nice

– Nimulid

– Cetrizet-D

These contain Phenyl Propanol-Amide (PPA), banned in the USA due to its association with strokes.

Spread this vital information to your loved ones. Remember:

– Answer calls with the left ear.

– Avoid taking medicine with cold water.

– Refrain from heavy meals after 5 pm.

– Hydrate more in the morning and less at night.

– Ensure adequate sleep from 10 pm to 4 am.

– Avoid lying down immediately after meals or medication.

– Limit phone use when the battery is low to reduce radiation exposure.
