The attack, which occurred recently, saw individuals purportedly affiliated with the Yoruba Nation movement storming the secretariat. The Nigerian Army reported that the assailants were dressed in foreign military attire and armed with dangerous weapons. Subsequently, nine individuals were apprehended, and weapons were confiscated.

Meanwhile, Bode George, a prominent figure within the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), condemned the invasion of the Oyo State House of Assembly by Yoruba Nation agitators, categorizing it as an act of treason. Speaking on Arise Television, George emphasized that resorting to arms against the government is unacceptable and constitutes a grave breach of the law.

George expressed disbelief at the audacity of the agitators, questioning their motives and suggesting a lack of education as a contributing factor to their actions. He underscored the importance of peaceful dialogue in addressing grievances and highlighted the necessity for intelligence gathering to prevent such incidents in the future.

As discussions surrounding the incident continue, there is a growing recognition of the need for enhanced security measures and proactive strategies to maintain law and order within the state. The events serve as a reminder of the complex challenges facing governance and the imperative of fostering dialogue and understanding among all stakeholders.

In light of these developments, it is essential for authorities to remain vigilant and proactive in addressing security threats while upholding the principles of justice and the rule of law. Only through collective efforts and a commitment to peaceful coexistence can communities navigate through periods of unrest and uncertainty.
