The Kwara State Police Command has taken swift action in response to a recent cult clash that occurred in Budo Oke, Eyenkorin, Asa Local Government Area of the state. This clash, which took place on Tuesday, resulted in the tragic death of one individual and the destruction of two houses in the Eyenkorin community.

The victim, Adams Isah, reportedly lost his life after being stabbed in the chest during an altercation with a leader of a rival cult group. The altercation involved Adams Isah, also known as “Number One,” and Rasaq Olorunwa, both of whom are residents of Budo-Oke in Eyenkorin.

They have since been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department in Ilorin for further investigation.

While these three suspects are now in custody, the police are continuing their efforts to locate Rasaq Olorunwa, who is currently at large, as well as any other individuals who may have been involved in the cult clash and have fled the scene. The police are determined to bring all the culprits to justice and ensure that they face the full consequences of their actions.

Commissioner of Police in Kwara State, Mr. Victor Olaiya, has emphasized the gravity of cult group membership under Nigerian law, stating that it is a serious criminal offense. He reassured the public that normalcy has been restored to the area and that measures are being taken to ensure that justice is served.

The Kwara State Police Command is urging anyone with information that could aid in the investigation to come forward and cooperate with the authorities. They also encourage the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities or individuals to the police, as community involvement is crucial in maintaining a safe and secure environment.

This incident serves as a stark reminder of the pressing need to address the issue of cultism and other forms of criminality within our society. It highlights the importance of collaboration between the police and other relevant stakeholders to create an environment where all residents of Kwara State can live without fear and in peace.
