In a shocking incident that occurred on Monday, a woman tragically passed away while traveling in a tricycle in Isheri, Idimu area of Lagos State. The identity of the deceased is yet to be confirmed.

According to reports from , the woman had boarded the tricycle along the Isheri-Igando Road and was en route to the Isheri end of the area. Upon reaching her destination, the tricycle rider informed her that they had arrived. To his dismay, she did not respond and was found to be motionless.
An eyewitness, who chose to remain anonymous due to the sensitivity of the incident, recounted that the tricycle rider called for help when he discovered the passenger’s unresponsive state. Passersby quickly gathered at the scene and realized that the woman had stopped breathing.
“I was near the Isheri bus stop when I heard the tricycle rider shouting for help. When we approached the spot, we saw a woman leaning against the tricycle’s barricade, unresponsive,” the eyewitness said.
The rider explained that he was supposed to drop her off at Isheri, which is the last bus stop for tricycles in the area. However, when they arrived, he expected her to alight and pay her fare, but she did not respond. This prompted him to raise the alarm, attracting a crowd due to the unusual circumstances.
Another witness, identified as Sodiq, mentioned that attempts were made by residents in the area to revive the woman, but unfortunately, all efforts proved futile. The police later arrived at the scene, causing people to disperse.
“People tried their best to revive her, but they couldn’t. Shortly after, the police arrived, and everyone left the area to avoid any implication,” Sodiq said.
Speculations regarding the cause of the woman’s death have arisen. Some suggest she may have been suffering from an ailment, while others speculate that she may have experienced a heart attack.
The tricycle was taken to the Idimu police station, and the deceased was transported to an undisclosed hospital in the area.
As of the time of this report, the Police Public Relations Officer, Benjamin Hundeyin, could not be reached for comment.
