Football Coaches Association Of Africa Nations FCAAN has appointed the former Head Coach of Right2Win Sports Academy, former Coach Dream Star Ladies, and former Heegan FC head
The former Dream Star Ladies FC and former Heegan FC head coach Felix Ifeanyi Nwosu is also the South East Region Coordinator of Nigeria. FCAAN the body in charge of organizing coaching education for African Coaches with European and America modeled syllabus.
Former Dream Star Ladies Coach revealed that he started as a player, back in primary school. Captained my school team then. Also in my secondary school, I was the games prefect of my school, then I joined Court of Appeal FC, later played for Rangers International FC Enugu, later to Kenya where I played for premier side Gor Mahia FC and FC Talanta, Ligi Ndogo SC and MOYAS FC before injury sets in an that was the end of my playing career. I quickly joined football management through me.
The Anambra born coach concluded that after he stopped playing professional football eight years ago and decided to pass on his knowledge and experience by becoming a coach. He enjoys training young people and seeing them develop their skills in coaching sessions and matches. Previously, he has coached professional and amateur male and female teams in Kenya, Somalia, and Nigeria. He is currently coaching a youth non-division side in Nigeria. If he were to win a training session with Arsenal coaches, it would benefit both him and underprivileged children in his community. Improving his own coaching techniques would help him give the best possible training and support to young players.
Coach Nwosu said “I always have that passion to teach, impact and mentor young and upcoming players. So becoming a coach is the first step towards achieving it.
I have handled some mentorship programs for players in clubs. I regret the fact that I couldn’t play to the highest level as a professional. Having worked with youth teams in the past and presently working with them, I know how to scout, develop, and mentor young minds. The problem we have in Nigeria football is that we are getting it all wrong from the youth and grassroots level. Every serious football nation has a football culture, unlike Nigeria. If we do, it only exists in the papers at the office and not applicable in the field of play. So I intend to bring in a culture that the coaches above me in other senior national teams will key in to as well. We must have the same pattern from the grassroots up to the senior level, so as the players are been promoted to higher Cadre, it won’t be a total overhauling. It’s gonna be a systematic growth”.
