The Ondo State Security Network, known as the Amotekun Corps, recently apprehended 27 individuals linked to various criminal activities throughout the state. The suspects face allegations involving kidnapping, theft, murder, and burglary.
During a press briefing at the Amotekun headquarters in Akure, Commander Akogun Adetunji Adeleye stated that the arrests occurred across multiple locations. While a few recent kidnapping cases were reported near the state’s borders, he emphasized that all 18 local government areas currently maintain a stable, peaceful atmosphere.
The commander reassured the public of Amotekun’s commitment to protecting communities and farmland, particularly within government forest reserves, to prevent criminal activity. Highlighting recent cases, he noted that suspects ranged in age from young adults involved in burglary and property damage to older individuals accused of attempted murder and attacks on law enforcement.
Amotekun Corps remains focused on supporting local security, resolving minor incidents, and ensuring ongoing peace across Ondo State.
