Afrobeats star, Timaya, has made some shocking claims about veteran singer Eedris Abdulkareem in a recent interview with Naija FM, Lagos. When the host compared Timaya’s personality to Abdulkareem’s, Timaya quickly downplayed the comparison, stating that he doesn’t talk or behave like Abdulkareem.
According to Timaya, Abdulkareem is not respected in the music industry because he talks too much. “Nobody is afraid of him because he talks too much. He has always been a talkative,” Timaya said. He also emphasized that he doesn’t want people to be afraid of him, and that he respects himself so that others will respect him.
When asked about his relationship with Abdulkareem, Timaya revealed that they don’t have any reason to communicate. “I have never had any problem with Eedris. It was just a relationship of the boss and apprentice. I don’t even think he knows my name at that time. I only gave him shoutout because he was part of my success story,” Timaya explained.
Timaya also shared his thoughts on how Abdulkareem treated him when he was serving in his band. “When I was serving in his band, he didn’t have any reason to build a relationship with me. When people are serving you, don’t act like you’re tolerating them, treat them like family because you don’t know tomorrow,” Timaya advised.
