The Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Pastor Umo Eno, has officially announced his defection from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Governor Eno made the announcement on Friday in Uyo, the state capital, disclosing that the decision came after “three months of wide consultation” with critical stakeholders across the state.
While expressing deep appreciation to the PDP for their support throughout his tenure so far, Governor Eno noted that it was time for a “progressive move” in the best interest of Akwa Ibom State.
He cited his admiration for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the need for Akwa Ibom to align strategically with the federal government in order to secure continued benefits and opportunities for the state and its people.
Governor Eno assured citizens that his administration would remain fully committed to their welfare and development, regardless of political party differences.
In his words: “After completing the rounds of my consultation as your servant whom you have elected to serve, I have therefore decided to progressively move to the APC.”
