The Nigerian women's basketball team, D'Tigress, has advanced to the semifinals of the 2025 FIBA Women's AfroBasket with a dominating 83-47 victory over Cameroon. The six-time and defending champions will now face Senegal in the next stage of the competition. The quarterfinals match started with Cameroon taking an early lead, opening the game on a 4-0 run. However, Nigeria quickly responded, going up 7-4. The depth of Coach Rena Wakama's side soon overwhelmed the Cameroonian team, which appeared fatigued after a demanding late-night qualification clash against Angola. The Nigerian team dominated the game, showcasing their skill and experience. The team's depth and talent were too much for Cameroon to handle, leading to a convincing 36-point victory. D'Tigress will now face Senegal in the semifinals, looking to continue their impressive performance and make a strong bid for their seventh title. The team's next match will be a crucial test of their skills and determination. Former Super Eagles captain Sunday Oliseh has urged Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen to make a swift move to the English Premier League or risk living with regret over a missed opportunity. Oliseh shared his thoughts on social media, amid ongoing uncertainty over Osimhen’s next destination.
“Victor Osimhen is at a very delicate crossroad. He needs to find his way to the Premier League in a hurry or he risks so much regret! Man. United and Arsenal need this player if only…,” Oliseh wrote.
Osimhen’s expected big-money move to the Premier League appears increasingly unlikely, despite his impressive goal-scoring record and reduced release clause. Napoli has lowered their asking price to €75m, but Premier League clubs have yet to make serious advances.
Galatasaray has emerged as a front-runner for Osimhen’s signature, having tabled a formal offer and agreed personal terms with the player. Saudi Arabia’s Al Hilal is also monitoring the situation, but Osimhen is said to favor staying in Europe.Sunday Oliseh has urged Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen
Formerly linked with Manchester United, Osimhen’s chances of signing with the club are reportedly slim due to his wage demands and satisfaction with life in Istanbul. Arsenal’s interest has also cooled amid other priorities
