The burial ceremony featured full military honors, including a 21-gun salute. The former President was laid to rest at his residence in Daura, surrounded by large crowds who gathered to pay their last respects. Prayers were offered to Almighty Allah for the forgiveness of his shortcomings and to grant him Aljannatul Firdaus.

*Tributes and Reflections*

Appointees of the former President paid tribute to his legacy, describing him as a man of integrity, honesty, and compassion. Dr. Rabi’atu Aliyu, former Minister of State for the Federal Capital Territory, said Buhari was a father figure who valued simplicity and understood the vanity of life. Sadiya Farouq, former Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Disaster Management, described him as a leader, a patriot, and a nationalist.

The former President’s legacy and impact on Nigeria’s democratic journey and national development were reflected upon by those in attendance. His commitment to public service, discipline, and patriotism were cited as qualities that defined his leadership. As the nation bids farewell to a notable leader, his contributions to Nigeria’s growth and development will be remembered for generations to come

A weeklong program of events will continue with a condolence visit to the late President’s family by the Presidential Committee. The committee will pay respects to the family and offer condolences on behalf of the nation
