‎The competition, which is supported by Financial Markets Indaba, is set to run for six months starting September 2025 and will involve 370 secondary schools 10 from each of Nigeria’s 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

‎

‎Structured in three stages: state level preliminaries, zonal semi-finals, and a national grand finale, the quiz is designed to enhance students’ understanding of the capital market, savings, investments, and broader economic development.

‎

‎Organisers say the competition will not only promote academic excellence and teamwork but also ensure inclusivity, with equal representation from public and private schools across the country. The Financial Markets Indaba platform, a partner organisation of Core International, will host the programme, leveraging its national engagement experience to expand outreach and impact.

‎

‎Beyond the contest itself, the initiative includes teacher training workshops aimed at integrating financial literacy into school curriculums. Students will also gain hands-on experience through access to a Virtual Trading Platform, simulating real-time stock trading using data from the Nigerian Exchange Group (NGX).

‎

‎Themed “Empowering Future Investors through Knowledge”, the programme directly aligns with SEC’s goal of investor protection and market development by equipping the next generation with essential financial decision-making skills.

‎

‎According to organisers, the competition promises national recognition, prizes, and meaningful learning outcomes, all within a framework of academic integrity, national education standards, and professional oversight.
