With profound sorrow, the Ogbakha-Edo Indigenous People’s Welfare Foundation joins the Arase family, the people of Edo State, and the entire Nigerian nation in mourning the passing of Dr. Solomon Ehigiator Arase, CFR, former Inspector-General of Police and Chairman of the Police Service Commission, who peacefully departed this life on Sunday, August 31, 2025, in Abuja.
The loss of this illustrious son of the Benin Kingdom is deeply felt and irreplaceable. Dr. Arase was more than a consummate professional; he was a man of rare integrity, a visionary leader, and a devoted father whose humility, wisdom, and patriotism touched countless lives across society.
To the Benin Kingdom, he stood as a beacon of honor a cultural arrowhead who upheld the enduring values of dignity, discipline, and service. To Nigeria, he was a fearless crime fighter, reformer, and security strategist whose brilliance strengthened law enforcement institutions, restored public confidence, and advanced the cause of national security. His legacy of justice, peace, and service will remain indelible in our history.
In this season of grief, we urge his family and loved ones to find comfort in the knowledge that Solomon Arase lived not just a fulfilled life, but a legendary one a life that continues to inspire generations.
